Chief Accounting Officer
Danielle P. Baker began working with Axion Power in October 2011, serving as their Chief Accounting Officer. In her position, Baker prepares required quarterly SEC filings. She handles cash management, financial statement presentation, forecasting and variance analysis. She oversees all other accounting functions, which include working with and managing external service providers such as auditors, banks and insurance companies.
Prior to joining Axion Power, Baker was employed by a steel company that generated $1 billion in sales. During that time, Baker led two continuous improvement teams that saw the company realize an additional $1 million in cost savings annually by designing and implementing streamlined processes. She also successfully appealed prior tax audits, netting a $500 thousand refund and converting a $480 thousand assessment into a $300 thousand refund. She held positions as a cost analysis and accounting manager overseeing all accounting functions, budget and cost variances on a $650 million expansion project.
In addition, Baker also previously worked as corporate controller for 11 window and door manufacturers with combined revenues in excess of $5 billion annually. Baker holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Youngstown State University where she majored in accounting with minors in finance and business. She is also a CPA in the state of Ohio.
